The women of wine are an association founded in 1988 to promote the culture of wine and the role of women in wine production and in society. Approximately 1,058 women producers, restaurateurs, wine shop owners, sommeliers, journalists and wine experts throughout Italy are part of this association. The president of this association for the years 2023/2025 is Daniela Mastoberardino. The previous president was Donatella Cinelli Colombini who gave impetus to important initiatives. Donatella at the end of last year with the help of the good PR. Maddalena Mazzeschi organized a tasting of 12 sweet wines from Tuscany at her company.
Journalist Gianni Fabrizio conducted the tasting which was very interesting.
For the occasion, Donatella presented her Passito B10 wine from Traminer grapes, 2018 vintage, designed and created by her husband Carlo Gardini.
During this tasting each producer presented their own sweet wine. After this very pleasant and interesting tasting, a delicious lunch followed, again inside the company, accompanied by Donatella’s wines.
My tasting notes for the sweet wines follow.

The typical scent of wood immediately stands out on the nose, personified by the “After eight” chocolate (chocolate and concentrated mint), hints of dried apricot and ending with the note of mint which reminds me of hard mint (sugar cane soaked in mint). .
On the palate it has a medium balanced body, there is a hint of malolactic fermentation and acetic acid. Rich freshness that completely covers the alcoholic mass, making the wine well balanced. Its taste persistence is long.
I was told by a person who works in this company that this wine does not make wood but only steel. How is it possible that it has these woody scents?. I was very skeptical. (88/100)
