The tasting
alternated with stories about Sergio, Martino’s father, anecdotes, memories,
stories from Aldo and mine.

The
audience was full of enthusiasts and there were many people on the waiting
list, given the success of this event.

We
proceeded to analyze each wine and they were all of a high quality level.

The
wine created exclusively for Giorgio Pinchiorri and the Chianti Classico
Riserva 1979 which are still worthy of great interest were also heard.

After
the tasting which left everyone fully satisfied, given the quality and
pleasantness of the wines, a pleasant light lunch followed by the Enoteca
Pinchiorri. The guests finished drinking the wines from the tasting as there
were also bottles in double magnum format and they also tasted and appreciated
the 2020 vintage “Pian del Ciampolo” wine.

Subsequently,
the wine auction began and among the first lots there were some with wines from
the Montevertine company which reached prices appropriate to the quality of the
wines.

The
auction continued with wines from the world throughout the following day,
meeting with the usual great success.

The
tasting notes of the wines follow.

Regarding the width of the
tannin, it is important to make the following clarifications so that it can be
understood. I feel the tannin of the wine on the upper gum. The total width of
the tannin is 6/6, i.e. the entire width of the upper gum. Obviously, if the
tannin is less broad, it could be for example 5/6 and so on. The width of the
tannin is important when the quality of the tannin is of good or high level.
The larger the tannin, the more the wine is worthy of attention, but the
tannin, as I have specified, must, in any case, be of good quality.

Let’s now move on to
describing the wines tasted.

MONTEVERTINE

LE PERGOLE
TORTE 2016

Toscana
IGT

(Grapes: 100% Sangiovese)

Ruby red color.

Nose gratified by aromas of cherry, mint,
eucalyptus, chocolate, rosemary, bay leaf, sage, sweets from the outside of the
candy, black pepper, intense nutmeg, hay, raspberry, fir and oil paint. The
interesting and rich olfactory journey continues with intense tones of violet
followed by oregano, toasted peanuts and finally with whiffs of liquorice
string.

On the palate the wine has a medium plus body
and is perfectly balanced. The pleasant and generous freshness completely
covers the alcoholic mass. The tannins are sweet, broad (6/6-) and silky. Its
intense aromatic persistence is very long with a violet finish.

(99/100)

If the tannins had full breadth, the wine would
have reached perfection.

MONTEVERTINE

LE PERGOLE
TORTE 2013

Toscana
IGT

50th
anniversary edition

(Grapes: 100% Sangiovese)

Bottles produced n. 1,500 and n. 400 Magnum

Garnet red dress.

The nose highlights the sweet scents of the
outside of the dragee, mint, eucalyptus, light dried plum, hay, chlorophyll,
rosemary, sage, bay leaves, cherry, violet, natural tea to finish with caresses
of chocolate.

Savory and mineral wine with medium body.

The freshness dominates, without second
thoughts, the alcoholic mass, while the tannins are sweet, quite broad (5/6++),
silky and velvety at the same time.

Violet flavor that remains throughout its long
gustatory persistence.
