The brothers Corrado and Marcello Fatini created the Fratini company in Bolgheri which produces three wines: Clinio Harte and Hortense , all normally, with a dominant blend of Cabernet Franc .
The Fratini brothers spared no expense in researching the land to plant and seeking technical advice in an effort to produce high-quality wines.
Art and wine are lovingly intertwined.
The winery’s tasting room is stunning, overlooking a vineyard and eye-catching artwork.
The tastings’ conductor is Davide D’ Alterio, a young sommelier who worked as a sommelier for several years at Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, gaining experience with all the world’s finest wines. Davide also serves as sales director.
Before moving on to my tasting notes, I need to make a brief clarification about tannins: Regarding the width of the tannin, it’s important that I clarify the following points so it can be understood. I taste the tannin in the wine on the upper gum. The total width of the tannin is 6/6, that is, the entire width of the upper gum. Obviously, if the tannin is less wide, it could be, for example, 5/6, and so on. The width of the tannin is important when its quality is good or high. The wider the tannin, the more worthy of attention the wine is, but the tannin, as I’ve specified, must , in any case, be of good quality.
Let’s now move on to describing the wines we tasted.
